Description of buildings
Villa Chic (487 sq.m) is a stately mansion built in the late 1800s and developing on three floors.
Ground floor
On the ground floor, the entrance is located on a large corridor with side doors that lead to airy living areas. An elegant sandstone staircase connects the three floors.
The villa’s left wing features high ceilings and two arches that divide the space into three parts: a kitchen, a dining room, and a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove.
The sitting room on the left wing is a large room divided into three areas by arches. Currently, the layout includes a formal living room with a wood-burning stove, a small dining area, and a TV room.
Moreover, the ground floor includes a guest bathroom and a back porch overlooking the south-facing gardens and the swimming pool.
The mezzanine floor
With a laundry room, a bathroom, and a boiler room.
First floor
In front of the staircase, there is a large study featuring a frescoed ceiling, honeycomb cementine tile flooring, and a balcony.
This room leads to the three bedrooms:
- the large and light-filled master bedroom features three wide windows, a ceiling decorated with geometric patterns, chequered floor tiles, and a tailor-made built-in wardrobe. It gets beautiful afternoon light because it faces north and west. The private bathroom has two sinks, a freestanding bathtub, a large shower box, and marble flooring;
- the second bedroom is also airy and light-flooded. Its ceiling is decorated with beautiful floral decorations, and the cementine tile flooring extends all the way to the ivory-coloured bathroom with a shower box.
- the third bedroom has a double-glazed window, decorated ceilings, original cementine tile flooring, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower box and a freestanding bathtub.
Second floor
On the second floor, there are four additional bedrooms, two with an en-suite bathroom and two with a shared bathroom. One of the bedrooms gives access to a terrace built over the porch overlooking the garden and the swimming pool.
There is also the possibility to build a 160 gross sq.m outbuilding and a 100 gross sq.m underground garage.
State and finishing
Villa Chic was built at the end of the 1800s as a hunting lodge. Inside, the architectural lines are emphasised by high frescoed ceilings.
Completed in 2019, the interiors’ renovation restored its original features, such as the clementine tile floors in the bedrooms and the frescoes on the first floor.
The majestic elliptical staircase has hand-carved sandstone steps and a handmade railing.
In addition, the ground floor features marble flooring, and all the French doors and windows are double-glazed.
The luxurious kitchen has a professional Smeg stainless steel hob. Carrara marble clads the long central island and worktops. Moreover, the household appliances include a Smeg refrigerator and freezer, a Miele dishwasher, an air conditioning system, and a Grohe Blue Home system to have filtered sparkling drinking water always available.
External areas
Villa Chic is surrounded by a 2.7 ha fenced plot of land with olive trees and cypresses along the perimeter. The park includes 150 century-old trees and an accessible woodland area.
On the villa’s back garden, there is a decorative fountain in the centre, fed by a 120 m deep well.
From here, an elegant staircase decorated with lavender and cypresses along the sides connects the house to the solarium (5x2 m) and the saltwater swimming pool (15x5 m), where a water heating system can be installed.
This property can be accessed from the primary entrance – the gate to the tree-lined gravel driveway – and the secondary one at the back.
